The Neon Lady – Hire Agreement Terms & Conditions
This Hire Agreement (“Agreement”) sets out the terms and conditions between The Neon Lady (including its contractors, subcontractors, and employees) and you, the individual or entity hiring neon signage (“the Hirer”).
By engaging with this website or proceeding with an order, the Hirer agrees to be bound by the following terms. The Neon Lady reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
1. Ownership of Equipment
All neon signs remain the property of The Neon Lady at all times. The Hirer must not sell, assign, sublet, lend, pledge, conceal, alter, or make modifications to the hired equipment.
2. Conditions of Use
- Signs are for indoor use only, unless explicitly stated and agreed upon as suitable for outdoor use.
- All signs are supplied with a standard Australian 240V plug and transformer.
- Fixings or hanging materials (where applicable) are provided and must be used as supplied.

No modifications are permitted.
- All items must be returned undamaged and in their original packaging.
3. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, the Hirer releases and indemnifies The Neon Lady from any claims, liabilities, or demands arising from the use or misuse of the equipment during the hire period.
4. Liability
The Hirer accepts full responsibility and liability for:
- The use, possession, handling, storage, and maintenance of the hired equipment.
- Any injury, death, or property damage resulting from use during the hire period.
5. Loss, Damage & Late Returns
- The Hirer is liable for any loss or damage to the equipment, regardless of cause.
- In case of malfunction, the Hirer must immediately contact The Neon Lady and must not attempt any repairs.
- Any repairs or replacement costs due to damage or misuse will be charged to the Hirer.
- Late returns are charged at $70 per additional day.
- If the sign is not returned within 7 days of the end of the hire period, the Hirer may be charged the full replacement value of the sign.
6. Delivery & Collection
- Signs may be collected in person or shipped via courier or Australia Post.
- A delivery/installation service may be available depending on location (subject to conditions).
- Delivery is deemed complete once tracking confirms delivery.
- The Neon Lady is not liable for missing items if tracking confirms delivery.
- Any damage occurring during transit by third parties is the Hirer's responsibility.
- If the sign is not returned within the agreed timeframe, full replacement value may be charged.
7. Payment & Booking
- Hire dates are only confirmed upon full payment.
- We cannot reserve signs or dates without full payment.
- Extended hire may be arranged upon request, subject to availability.
8. Security Deposit
- A $100 security deposit will be included in the booking invoice.
- The deposit is refundable if:
- The sign is returned in full working order.
- The original packaging is used.
- The item is returned on time, or the scheduled return courier is not missed.
- Refunds will be issued within 48 hours of return, via the original payment method, with confirmation emailed to the Hirer.
9. Cancellations
- A $50 cancellation fee applies to all cancellations made 14 days or more before the hire date.
- The remaining hire fee and deposit will be refunded within 48 hours.
- If government restrictions prevent your event, a full refund will be issued.
10. Faults and Wear
- Faults must be reported immediately for resolution.
- Misuse-related faults will result in loss of the security deposit.
- Our neon signs are handmade. Minor glue marks may appear on the acrylic — these are not faults and are usually not visible when the light is on.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Australia, and any disputes shall be handled by courts with jurisdiction therein.
12. General Acknowledgement & Responsibilities
By placing an order or making payment, the Hirer confirms understanding and acceptance of:
- All Terms and Conditions outlined here and on theneonlady.com.au
- The fact that bookings are not confirmed until full payment is received.
- Responsibility for arranging appropriate installation (The Neon Lady does not provide installation).
- Any installation advice provided is non-binding and at the Hirer’s own risk.
- Any third-party installation will be subject to that party’s terms and liability.
- The Neon Lady is not liable for misuse after the sign is delivered.
- Payments are processed via secure third-party gateways; card details are not stored by The Neon Lady.
- Personal information is collected solely for fulfilling your hire and will remain confidential.
